Sand Ceremony

You will need to purchase:-

• Glass sand containers 1 per person
• 1 x central vessel to pour sand into
• Individual colored sand per person

Option One (Bride and Groom Only)

Celebrant

Bride and Groom you have just sealed your relationship by the giving and receiving of wedding rings, and this covenant is a relationship agreement between two people who agree that they will commit themselves to one another throughout their lives.

The most beautiful example of this partnership is the marriage relationship.

This relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand, one representing Brides name and all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, and the other representing Grooms name, all that you were and all that you are, and all that you will ever be.

As these two containers are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one.

Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into individual containers, so will your marriage be.

Far more important than your individuality is now the reality that you are no longer two but one, never to be separated from one another.

Bride and Grooms name you have symbolized your union by pledging your love to each other with your wedding vows , the giving and receiving of rings, and through the covenant of sand. So I therefore declare you to be husband and wife.

Option 2 (family)

These bottles of sand of various colours, symbolize your individual spirits of you and that of your children.

Each bottle is unique, representing who you are.

As these bottles of sand are poured into one larger bottle, the colours will join together, to form something quite beautiful.

And just as the sand will never be separated or be as one grain again, this will be the same for your family too, an inseparable union.

You are joined together today not only in a marriage, but also as a family.

You may now blend the sand together, symbolizing the uniting of the two of you, and your children.
